Transformative water practices in the circular economy |
 |
KWR and WRC hosted a workshop at the 14th IWA Water Reuse and Reclamation Conference on ‘Transformative Water Practices in the Circular Economy’. The workshop provided valuable insights into the application of circular economy principles to enhance the sustainability, resilience, and resource efficiency of water systems. The participants reception and insightful contributions demonstrated the growing interest in circular water solutions, and the potential for meaningful partnerships and impactful contributions to sustainable water management in Africa and beyond.

|
Boosting water innovation for circular economy and water reuse |
 |
Watershare partners (NTUA, BD Group, Cranfield University, KWR and University of Exeter) are working alongside governments, research centres, businesses, and communities to create smarter, more sustainable water systems. Through a WaterWise Hub, new technologies are developed, entrepreneurs supported, and knowledge shared to drive long-term change across the region.

Eau de Paris launches new action plan to address its gender equality challenges |
How can we go even further in terms of gender equality within Eau de Paris? How can we promote diversity in a very male-dominated sector? How can we avoid gender stereotypes? To meet these challenges, Eau de Paris is launching a new action plan. Corinne Féliers (Director of Research and Development and Water Quality) and Gwenaël de Conti (Director of Human Resources), both responsible for leading this initiative, present their thoughts. |

Microplastics floating in water caught by floating drones |
In recent years, microplastics have garnered significant attention due to their detection in tap and bottled water, as well as in rivers, lakes, and oceans. Conventional filtering technologies for water treatment have difficulty effectively filtering out microplastics. Researchers at the KIST have developed a floating drone equipped with hydrophilic tooth structures that leverage surface tension to skim microplastics. |
